Welcome to your new guild hosting system created by Curse! This post is meant to help get reacquainted with the new Curse Website System.

As with all "new" things (espically website programs) this first week will be a lot of bug fixes. A list of known bugs can be found [here].

How do I gain Member's Access to the Forums?

**Updated (24SEPT10) There's a reported bug at the moment that has all of the non-public forums on lock down. This will hopefully be corrected soon.

You need to fully log onto the site and be on the Guild Roster.

When logging into your guild site for the first time, use your old WowStead e-mail and password.  One of three situations will happen.  In all cases, you will be given a rename credit to change your CurseID once.

1.  You do not have a CurseID
If you do not have a CurseID, a new CurseID will be created for you.

2.  You have a CurseID, but the e-mail on your WowStead account does not match the e-mail on your Curse account
If your e-mails are mis-matched, a new CurseID will be created for you.  You can elect to either use the new CurseID and rename it, or use your existing CurseID.  If you use your existing CurseID, you will have to add your characters and verify them.

3.  You have a CurseID, and your WowStead account e-mail matches your Curse account email.
If your e-mails are matched, you can log in with your CurseID and everything will be set up for you!

How do I add all of my Characters to my Account?

Benefits

Completing the character verification process will give you several benefits. One benefit that most users will want is access to their guild's rank restricted areas. You will also need to complete the verification process to be able to create a guild site for your guild.

If you have a character on an account that you do not have access to then you will need to do the verification process to have that character moved from the first account to your new one.

Getting Started

Once you have created a Curse/WowStead Account you will need to add your character(s) to the account in order to post or create a guild site. Go to WowStead.com, and make sure you are logged in with your WowStead account. At the top right you should see Welcome, CurseUserName! with a little arrow point down next to it. If you click on the arrow you will get a menu with the option to Add New Character.

Adding Your Character

This page has a short form you will need to fill out with the information about your character:

Game - This is what game the character is from.

Example: World of Warcraft

Game Region - This is the location of your realm.

Example: US, EU, etc.

Game Server - This is the specific server/realm your character is located on.

Example: Windrunner

Character's First Name - This is the name of your character. Some games allow for last (or surnames) this should not be put into this field.

Now click on Add.

This will add the character to your account and redirect you to the character's profile.

Verification Process

After the character is added to the account you will need to verify ownership. Once you are redirected to your character's profile look at the upper right area of the character's profile you will want to find the link Verify Ownership.

Where you click the link you will be redirected once again to a page that has a button to start the verification process. Before you click the button you may want to already be logged into your account on the official World of Warcraft Armory.

After clicking the Begin Verification button you will be redirected to a page with directions on what you will need to do to verify the character belongs to you. Do not click the button until you are ready to do the process. Once you begin the verification process, you will be be given one of the several poses to set your character Armory profile to. This is completely random. So your pose for your first character could be different for your next ones. The example image shows that the pose that is needed as being Cry.

Once you are logged into the World of Warcraft Armory, if you mouse over your character's profile you will get some tools. At the bottom right you will see where you can browser through the poses that are available to choose from. You will need to select the one that was randomly given to you.

After the character is in the correct pose you will need to click the button on the top right side with the floppy disk icon. This will Save the pose. You should get a Pose Saved! notice above your character.

Now that you have saved the proper pose go back to your character's profile on WowStead. Click on the Verify Ownership link again to take you back to the page with your directions. There will be a Complete button at the bottom of the page.

If everything is correct you will be taken back tot he character's profile and you will get the notice You have successfully verified this character!

If not, you will get the notice You failed to match character poses, try again.

You are now finished with verifying your character. You will need to repeat this process for each of your characters you want to verify to your account. Enjoy!

How do I change my Avatar?

Introduction

Your character's avatar appears all over the site wherever you post, so why wouldn't you want to leave a unique mark?

The Process

Click on the triangle next to "Welcome, !>" to view a drop-down menu:

From here, click on "Edit this Character".

Now, you will see a page like this:

Just click browse, find the avatar you want to use, and click Okay. To finish the process, press Upload.

Now, you can post in style.
